A uniformed guard sits in a small building at the end of 47th Avenue NE. Visitors must pass by him and then through an electronic gate to enter the neighborhood known as Placido Bayou. It is one of the few gated, deed-restricted communities in St. Petersburg city limits, and those who live there say they cherish the privacy and sense of security it offers.

BOUNDARIES
Placido Bayou is bounded by 54th Avenue Canal to the north, 45th Avenue Canal to the south, Bayou Placido to the east and 1st Street N. to the west.
